Create Location
The Create Location page is used to create types of space locations – regions, properties, floors, spaces, subSpaces, and zones.
To open the Create Location page:

Access the Space module by clicking the Space link at the top of the page.
- Select the Create tab.
Create a Region
A region is a large geographical area that contains one or more properties. For example, a global installation might have American, European, and Asia-Pacific regions; a national installation might have Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western regions. Every region must be associated with a company that manages that region. Once you have created a region, you can associate one or more properties with it.
To create a region:

On the Create Location page, click the Region link.
The Add & Edit Company Regions page opens, allowing you to create a new region. For more information, see Add & Edit Company Regions.
Create a Property
A property is a single physical location that is managed by the system. For example, if you manage a series of retail spaces, each store would be set up as a property. For an academic institution, a separate property could be created for each building on campus.
To create a property:

On the Create Location page, click the Property link.
The Create Property page opens allowing you to create a new property. For more information, see Create Property.
Create a Floor
A floor is a single, enclosed horizontal division of a building, for example, the ground floor of the sixteenth floor.
To create a floor:

On the Create Location page, click the Floor link.
A dialog box opens allowing you to select the property the floor is located within.

Enter property search criteria and then click FIND.

Select a property from the list.
The selected property is displayed at the top of the Create Floor fields.

In the Description field, enter a description of the floor.

In the External Floor ID field, enter a floor ID that may be used in conjunction with an external system, if needed.

Enter a value in the Tab Order field.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Active field, select Yes to indicate that this floor is active; no if it should be inactive.

Click ADD.
The floor is created and the View Floor page opens. From this page you can view the floor information, create an additional floor at the same property, or edit the floor to further define it.
Create a Space
A space is any subdivision of area within a floor, for example, the lobby, the training suite, or the manufacturing wing.
To create a space :

On the Create Location page, click the Space link.
A dialog box opens allowing you to select the property the space is located within.

Enter property search criteria and then click FIND.

Select a property from the list.
The selected property is displayed at the top of the Create Space fields.

In the Description field, enter a description of the space.

In the Floor field, select the floor the space is located on.

Enter a value in the Tab Order field.
The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

In the Active field, select Yes to indicate that this space is active; no if it should be inactive.

The space is created and the View Space page opens. From this page you can view the space information, create an additional space at the same property, or edit the space to further define it.
Create a Sub-Space
A subSpace is any smaller allocated area within a space that needs to be managed separately. For example, if the training suite is a space, each individual training room might be a subSpace.
To create a subSpace :

On the Create Location page, click the Sub-Space link.
A dialog box opens allowing you to select the property the subSpace is located within.

Enter property search criteria and then click FIND.

Select a property from the list.
The selected property is displayed at the top of the Create Sub-Space fields.

In the Description field, enter a description of the subSpace.

In the Floor field, select the floor the subSpace is located on.

In the Space field, select the space within the selected floor that the subSpace is located in.

Enter a value in the Tab Order field.

The subSpace is created and the View Sub-Space page opens. From this page you can view the subSpace information, create an additional subSpace at the same property, or edit the subSpace to further define it.
Create a Zone
A zone is a grouping of multiple properties, floors, or spaces that allows them to be managed together. For example, you could create a property zone at a university to group all of the buildings on the Engineering campus, or a space zone in a office building to group all of the bathrooms.
To create a zone:

On the Create Location page, click the Zone link.
The Admin – Zones page opens allowing you to create a new zone. For more information, see Property Zones.
